Since childhood, it has been a passion to help others improve themselves and their lives, which I have been successful with! Growing up in a single family home with my mother as my primary caregiver made me see life from a different perspective. It made me: understand the struggle(s) of being a parent, appreciate the little things in life, become independent, be a hard-worker, set goals, and achieve them. I have overcome challenges such as: peer issues, family issues, depression, anxiety, discrimination, having to work extra hard for what I want, and experiencing many deaths due to various reasons. With all of these barriers, I have obtained my BA in Psychology from George Mason University as well as my MA in Mental Health Counseling from Bowie State University. It is my mission to make your life meaningful so you can outshine your setbacks.
As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland (LC7753) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC624270), I have worked with individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health issues. However, I specialize in working with children and adolescents experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges as well as adults experiencing dual diagnosis (substance use disorder + another psychiatric disorder such as depression, anxiety, etc.). I have been successful in helping individuals: overcome their emotional and behavioral challenges, improve their family functioning, and remain abstinent from substances.
I look forward to working with you.
